The CETHO orphans, under the care of the Christian Effort to Help Orphans (CETHO), were displaced from their home in Loa due to the prolonged conflict in South Sudan. For years, they have lived in the Pagirinya Refugee Camp, finding safety but facing the hardships of displacement.
Throughout this period, CETHO continued its mission, ensuring the children received shelter, education, and care, even in the challenging environment of a refugee camp. Now, with peace gradually returning to South Sudan, the orphans are finally going home.
In a heartwarming and historic milestone, the CETHO orphans are set to return to their home in Loa, South Sudan, after years of displacement in the Pagirinya Refugee Camp, Adjumani District, Uganda. Scheduled for 14th February this year, this move symbolizes hope, resilience, and the beginning of a new chapter for these children and their caregivers.
The return marks the beginning of a new chapter for the CETHO orphans. With plans to resume their education, health care, and community engagement, these children are set to thrive in their home environment.
Community leaders in Loa have expressed their joy and commitment to supporting the children’s reintegration. “This is not just the return of the orphans; it’s the return of hope and a brighter future for Loa,” said a local elder.
